FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) - Multiple fire crews battled a massive fire at a CBD oil facility in Franklin Tuesday night.

“Yesterday afternoon, we were paged to a structure fire here at the facility. We, on the way, we initiated Woodburn Fire Department for automatic aid to respond. Upon arriving, seeing what we were presented with flames coming from the building,” said Franklin Simpson Fire Rescue Chief Leslie Goodrum, recalling the massive fire.

Once at the facility, the Franklin Simpson Fire Rescue officials began requesting assistance from other agencies.

“When we arrived began flames coming from the building, we immediately we set up a water supply with a hydrant, we lost a defensive attack, shortly after we set up the aerial, we were presented then, with several explosions,” Goodrum adds.

The fire lasted hours into the night practically destroying the facility, but no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“Trying to operate in this kind of weather is, you know, extremely hazardous. We all have to be aware of the heat, heat stroke, that kind of thing, and I do appreciate everybody’s efforts,” also said Goodrum.

Those with Shyne Labs, the CBD Oil Facility, and Hemp extracting plant say the employees are still employed.

“We’re making sure that they’re all taken care of right now and then we’ll worry about the business side of it and figure out how we’re going to move forward in Franklin, Simpson County,” said John Knarreborg, the COO of Shyne Labs.

Some of the agencies that responded included Bowling Green Fire Department, Auburn and Woodburn.
